Baby Yancey #2 Is…

Well, it is time to spill the beans! A few weeks ago Matt & I went to a local ultrasound boutique and found out the gender of baby #2 together – just him and I – and it was the sweetest! Complete opposite of how we found out with Jack, but considering this could be our last baby, I enjoyed the intimacy of just the two of us finding out together.

We then went to lunch, ran by the grocery store who was conspiring with me to help surprise Jack with an icing filled cupcake, picked up our little guy and went home. We were leaving to go out of town that afternoon and Jack was completely oblivious to what he was going to be finding out. We set up the camera and caught it all on video! So, Shepherd Matthew will be joining our family in December and we couldn’t be more excited!

As you may remember, Jack really wanted a baby sister and had been insisting for months that is what he wanted. He would hear no talk of a baby brother, at all. Thankfully, he had warmed up to the idea of having a baby brother and was quite excited when we cut open the cupcake to see blue icing! We then went back and forth for about a week after Matt & I decided on Shepherd as the baby’s name and Jack wanted to call him Bill like his dinosaur! Thankfully, that too has passed and he is now on board with baby brother Shepherd!

And a little baby update…

I’m currently 19 1/2 weeks along. For the most part I’m feeling great! I’ve had some headaches along the way that Tylenol doesn’t touch and in the last week or so have noticed my sciatic nerve flaring up and causing me some issues. I can still squeeze into some of my regular clothes but, bottoms definitely have to be maternity bottoms. 🙂

The nursery is coming along… we already had the crib from a friend (I’m using a different one than what we had with Jack), I found the rug on major sale from Boutique Rugs over 4th of July weekend and we also went ahead and picked up the dresser from Ikea. Just lack the curtains and glider for the room and we are set on the big items for the nursery so YAY for that! I just picked up more hangers so, now we can start going through clothes and getting them out of boxes – perks to having babies in the same seasons!!
