We are so incredibly excited to be adding another sweet blessing to our family this December! This has been a little while coming and I still don’t fully believe that it is actually happening. (We’ve seen the baby twice now though and all is well – thankfully!). While I found out I was pregnant right at 4 weeks, this pregnancy has already begun to fly by! So, in an effort to document a bit of it, I wanted to share some bits and pieces here.

Due date: December 12th!
How far along: 13 weeks – will be 14 weeks on Thursday!
Gender: We don’t know yet but, we will be finding out!
Symptoms: For the most part, I’ve felt pretty good. There were some small bouts of nausea in the beginning but, nothing too bad. Weight has already shifted though and I can feel my body changing a bit as well. *I’m super thankful for feeling so well but, with everything that happened in the Fall, it is nerve racking to have little to no symptoms.
Cravings/Aversions: The only things I’ve really craved are ice cream, snow cones & watermelon. All fitting for Summer so, I’m ok with that! And no major aversions except for smelling reheated meat. WOOF! Just the thought of it makes my nose flare. Ha!
How we found out: I had a busy weekend of working open houses and knew exactly when my cycle should start – over the weekend. I had some cramping earlier in the week so, while I was bummed I was glad to just know. The weekend came but, my cycle did not. I thought it was odd because I thought for sure I was not pregnant. So, I decided to take a pregnancy test so that I could get it out of my head and move on. Well, much to my surprise those two pink lines popped up quite quickly! I took a few minutes to let it sink in and then went and told Matt. He had no idea that I was taking the test so, he was just as shocked! Especially since I had told him earlier in the week that I didn’t think I was pregnant. Whoops!

What does Jack think? Jack is VERY excited to have a baby…. sister! We have talked to Jack for almost a year now (that’s how long we’ve been trying) about potentially having a baby sibling and trying to get him used to the idea. Since the beginning he has expressed that he only wants a baby sister. He is very, very excited though and cannot wait for the baby to get here. Now, if it is a boy we have some things to work through! Ha!
Some things I want to remember: As mentioned, Jack is very excited about having a baby sibling. We decided to take him to my 12 week appointment and He was in such awe of seeing the baby on the monitor moving around and seeing the heartbeat. It was one of the sweetest moments that I always want to remember.
A few days later we went to Buy Buy Baby, another first for Jack and He again was very excited. He pointed out the blown up baby pictures on the outside of the building and upon walking in he asked, “Where are all the babies!?” I explained that babies aren’t at the store but, just a bunch of baby stuff. He seemed to be ok with that explanation for the time being. Once we were leaving he then asked again about when we were going to get our baby which is when it clicked to me that he thought we were going to buy a baby at Buy Buy Baby!! Matt & I cracked up laughing and tried to explain that our baby was coming in December, just before Santa comes.
Thanks for stopping by! I love to hear your thoughts so, please leave me a comment below!
