Being in a new home this year I was overly excited to get the Christmas decorations up. I had a lot of fun finding new spots for items and picking up a few new things to help my “Christmas Explosion” dreams come to life. Growing up I remember our home having bits of Christmas everywhere you looked and slowly but, surely our home is becoming that way as well. Luckily, my husband doesn’t seem to mind or reel me in too much. So, welcome to my Christmas home tour!
Starting with our front porch, I kept it fairly simple this year. In addition to our DIY JOY sign that Matt made last year, I added some pre-lit garland, my Santa Clause door hanger and miniature trees.
As you walk in you see our entryway… I love this set up as it is a mixture of old, new and diy’d items.
Our living room was hands down my favorite room of all. It may or may not of had to do something with our King of Christmas Christmas tree that we purchased this year – ours is the 8′ Prince Flocked Unlit. Matt or I have never had a flocked tree before and after seeing so many gorgeous ones online I knew we wouldn’t be disappointed if we took the plunge. So, we did and it’s safe to say that we both absolutely love our new tree!
My next favorite space was most definitely the kitchen! It was like Christmas touched every spot in my kitchen and I loved it! So sweet for me to have decorations that were my mom’s and even a couple of items Matt’s mom has passed on to me as well.
And one of our favorite spots in the kitchen most definitely was the mini bar area. I mixed many a cocktails here over the holiday season – something seems odd about that statement… ha! But, it’s true and hey, no shame here!
Next was our dining room. I kept the decor fairly simple in here. Mainly because I knew we were hosting Breakfast with Santa the second weekend of December and I wanted it to be a functional and usable space for the kiddos. It turned out to be just that and sometimes that is what’s most important with decor – that it’s functional.
Lastly, I had to add a bit of Christmas cheer to Jack’s bathroom! I couldn’t help myself and as a kid I always remember my mom doing the same. It’s these sort of things that I am excited to pass on to my kids and hope they grow to appreciate it as they get older. Yes, I’m a sentimental sap so, y’all bear with me! (And by “they” I mean Jack and any future kids 😉
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed this year’s Christmas home tour!
