Oh, hi friends! Goodness, the last time I graced this space I was still pregnant with Shepherd, we hadn’t turned over a new decade, we hadn’t sold our house and bought a new one, and we most certainly were not smack dab in the middle of a global pandemic. Goodness what times we are living in right now. But, I can say that I am more than thankful for our health and thankful for friends and family. With the challenges and pressure that this time has brought, I feel like I need a creative outlet more than I ever have. So, here’s to dusting off the cobwebs here and beginning to get back to blogging, again. I have felt the urge now for a while to make sort of a transition with this online space (& my accompanying social media pages) to begin sharing more of my personal life, our family and myself vs. strictly home decor. So, that’s what you’ll be seeing more of around here. I hope y’all will welcome this transition and I look forward to making new memories here.
Now… what we’ve been up to since last October…
For starters, we welcomed our sweet baby boy, Shepherd Matthew on Friday, December 13, 2019. It was and eventful delivery to say the least (maybe more on that in the future!) but, we are so thankful he arrived safe & healthy!

We rang in the new year at home, celebrated our big boy’s 5th birthday and shuffled our way through the Fort Worth Stock Show.

In March we went on our first family ski trip to Red River, NM with 4 other families. It was the absolute best time with friends we don’t get to see as often as we’d like and to see all of our sweet kiddos just pick up where they left off and never skip a beat – just like their parents. It’s so good to have friends like that.

That weekend though is when everything back home started shutting down and when Covid really hit. I remember being thankful I bought a 6 pack of toilet paper before we left. But, while we were there shelves began to be run bare and formula was even being bought up, none of our kind to be seen for miles. We also listed our house for sale that weekend. Not knowing the world was going to be shutting down. We trudged forward though and things thankfully worked out. We’ve moved to a new house that has some projects to be completed and overall just needs some lovin’. Certainly a transition from where we were but, we’re determined to make it work and see our financial goals come to fruition.
Thankfully the kids have been able to continue in their daycare so, life hasn’t changed as much for us but, it has certainly been altered. And the stress of it all is still there. Like everyone else, we are making the best of it all and trying to focus on what we do have – a roof over our heads, our health and our family & friends.
I’m sure I’ll be looping back around with some post from prior months. For now though, it feels good to be back in this space and I look forward to being here more often. Cheers friends & Happy 4th of July!
