I cannot believe it has taken me two months to share about my birthday trip to Magnolia but… here we are! Luckily i’m a big fan of the whole “better late than never” quote! Ha! Back in November Matt & I took our first trip together to Waco to see and do all things Magnolia. It all started when the Silobration took place in October and I saw multiple people I follow online were there. Needless to say it gave me some major FOMO and I was dying to get back there soon. I quickly realized that my birthday fell on a Friday and asked Matt if He would take me to Waco for my birthday! To my surprise He didn’t hesitate and agreed to. Fast forward to my birthday in November (the 16th to be exact) and the big day was upon us! We dropped Jack at school and headed south on 35 for about 1.5 hours to Waco!
As soon as we arrived in Waco we went straight to Magnolia Table. Parking was a little tricky but, once we found our spot we immediately got our name on the list to eat. The wait was only 1 hour long and the weather was gorgeous that day so, we grabbed some coffee and just enjoyed some time chatting with each other on the patio. The food was so good and well worth the wait – the homemade biscuits are to die for and pretty much the sole reason I asked for Joanna’s cook book for Christmas! But, Matt and I enjoyed everything that we had – He had a BLT and I had the Farm Breakfast. Oh and the homemade tater tots – so, so good!!

Next we made our way to Magnolia Market. {On our way we happened to go by the Shotgun House! No one was home so, we snagged a quick pic from the street.} That weekend happened to be Magnolia Market’s big side walk sale – Happy Birthday to me!! So, we stopped by the sale tent that had so many goodies! I came home with a pillow, some more cotton stems, a huge tobacco basket and t-shirts! Then we made our way over to the silos. They had also just set up their Christmas displays and they were certainly swoon worthy!

Thankfully since it was a Friday, the market wasn’t too crowded and where there were lines, Magnolia has it down to a science that you don’t have to wait for long. We made our way outside to check out the garden, sip on some Alabama Sweet Tea and take in all that Magnolia is. Since this was Matt’s first trip it was nice to just take a step back and think of where Chip & Joanna have come from and what all they have created. It is inspiring, highly motivating and we just soaked in as much as we could.

There is a mini “Magnolia Table” food trailer at the market as well and this quote is at the restaurant as well as on the side of the trailer. It’s one of my favorite quotes – reminding us that these are the good ‘ol days and to enjoy the moment you are in.

Considering it was my birthday we had to stop by the bakery and pick up some oh-so-delicious cupcakes! We ended up saving them until we got home to share with Jack and they were still really good!

The last time I was at Magnolia my girlfriends & I saw this cool bar just down the street from the Silos. Matt and I passed it on our way as well and agreed that a pit stop was in order before we left. Pat Green was playing that night and we seriously considered calling home and telling my dad we would be back in the morning to get Jack! We didn’t but, it was nice to sit for a little bit, enjoy a birthday drink with my husband and be ever so thankful for our day and time together. It was such a great day not only because it was my birthday but, because I was able to share a fun day away with Matt. I can’t for my next trip back!

Thanks for stopping by! I love to hear your thoughts so, please leave me a comment below!
